Let’s be honest. In modern society maintaining an ideal body weight
or keeping the flab at bay can be quite a challenge. We spend to many hours sitting rather than moving, have a tendency to eat two meals with every meal (thin super sized order), and in general take in more calories than we consume. Diet and exercise can remedy most of the subsequent maladies. However, when it comes to appearance, sometimes those time honored solutions need a boost.
In the modern era you have two primary options; CoolSculpting® such as is offered by Glam RN or Liposuction. So, which is the best option? Which procedure best fits my budget? To answer these questions let’s evaluate the procedures.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, non-surgical medical procedure that helps remove extra fat cells from underneath the skin. The medical term for the procedure is cryolipolysis. There is no stitches, no need for anesthesia, and as a result, and minimal downtime. A plastic surgeon or physician trained in CoolSculpting procedures use a specialized instrument that clamps down and then cools a roll of fat to a freezing temperature. In the weeks following the treatment the body will naturally eliminate the dead fat cells through the liver. Results will be noticeable within a few weeks the first treatment.
In comparison, is an invasive surgical procedure which requires incisions, stitches, and anesthetizing. Depending on the scope of the procedure, the doctor may choose to use a anesthesia or you’ll be sedated. Then a long, narrow suction tool will be inserted into the incision to remove fat from the targeted area.
As CoolSculpting is a non-surgical procedure, a session can be completed during a lunch hour. For best results, however, several sessions will be required. Full results become evident in about ninety days.
One liposuction procedure is usually sufficient to see results. The procedure takes several hours, depending on the size of the are to be treated. Unless there is an unusual reaction it is considered an outpatient procedure meaining you will return home the same day. The recovery time is generally two or three days with limited activities. It could be as long as a month before a normal activity schedule can be resumed.
CoolSculpting and liposuction produce similar results. However, though both procedures are used to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body, they are not designed to be used for weight loss, and can do little to improve the appearance of cellulite or tighten loose skin.It should be noted that in one extensive followup study researchers determined that twelve months after liposuction, patients generally had the same amount of body fat as before the procedure. The fat was stored in other parts of the body. The study also found that CoolSculpting eliminated on average 25% of body fat.
